Govt to assign rebuilding of Palarivattom flyover to DMRC

Kochi:  The Kerala government on Wednesday decided to rebuild the controversial Palarivattom flyover by assigning the work to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The decision comes following the opinion of the expert committee, appointed by the government, that the flyover be rebuilt.

E Sreedharan, principal advisor, DMRC in his report had recommended rebuilding of the flyover, which the government decided to accept, said the government communique.

The government would direct the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK), which had built the controversial flyover, to recover the cost of rebuilding the flyover from the original contractor.
