Kochi: The Kerala Film Producers’ Association on Thursday decided to ban actor Shane Nigam after the actor shaved off his hair and beard, causing what they said disruption of the shooting of a movie under production in which he was to play a role with hair.
Two movies under production—Veyil and Kurbani—with Nigam in would be shelved and the actor was asked to compensate the producers over 7 crore put into the making.
Following the decision on the ban, the association conveyed the same to the secretary of A.M.M.A, Edavela Babu, who earlier tried to broach a truce between Nigam and the producer of the movie Veyil.
The ban against the actor may well be extended to other film industries as well, as all the associations were affiliated.
Meanwhile, the association alongside triggered a controversy when it accused some new generation actors of troubling movie sets under the influence of narcotic drugs.
