Call 1916 to file complaints on water distribution

Thiruvananthapuram:  Has KWA’s distribution stopped? Now you can ring 1916 to file a complaint on drinking water distribution and sewage system at a 24 hours open helpline number. Minister K. Krishnankutty formally announced the institution of the helpline number of KWA (Kerala Water Authority). The minister also inaugurated the operation of POS machines facilitated to pay water bills without currency.

The new helpline number can receive up to 30 complaints simultaneously. The facility will be operative round the clock including on holidays. The complaint can be filed from any phone of any network in the state.  The complaints will be handed over to the assistant engineer of the respective section office.  Along with this, messages will be sent to official numbers and official email Ids. The complainant will be updated of the proceedings on the complaint filed. The calls to the helpline are free of cost.

The project is implemented by the state government's IT Mission. The helpline number 1916 was allotted by Union Ministry of Communications.
