Issues related to the state's railway development has to be brought before the Centre. The government is trying to realize the proposed Thalassery-Mysore railway line. For this, a tunnel has to be built beneath Kabani River. Chief Minister said that a discussion in this regard was held with Karnataka government.
Feasibility of an alternative road at Wayanad is being considered. Konkan Railway has been approached to prepare a detailed project report. For this, Rs. 700 Cr. will be required.
Only 0.72 hectares has to acquire for the Ettumanur Chingavanam railway line development which requires 3.2 hectares in total.
The Union railway ministry has stopped spending funds for the projects including Sabari Railway line.
Though Kerala is mulling suburban railway, the Union ministry is not responding. The Chief Minister also emphasised that the Centre's move to privatise HLL, BPCL and other organisations cannot be accepted. The MPs responded that they will voice their response against privatisation. Uncertainty is also hovering around the privatisation of Thiruvananthapuram airport.
The Chief Minister suggested making collective intervention against the RCEP agreement.
Geo tubes will be used to check sea erosion. Measures have been taken to complete Alappuzha bypass construction. Steps have also been taken to complete the construction of Nileswaram railway overbridge. The Chief Minister also said that construction of Vyttila and Kundannur flyovers will be completed next year.
