NDA to announce its Kerala list today

Thiruvananthapuram: The state BJP leadership is trudging towards finalising its list of candidates after days of bickering.

Sources say that the list will be announced on Thursday, just as BDJS and Kerala Congress have finalized theirs.

The BJP state unit made a slew of omissions and additions in it to pacify factional leaders within the party.

A beleaguered PS Sreedharan Pilai dug his heels for Pathanamathitta even to the last moment.

However, insurmountable pressure from within and RSS favoured K Surendran to own the seat.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kummanam Rajasekharan requires just a formal announcement to start campaigning.

Sreedharan Pillai will cop out of elections this time to focus on organizational duty across the state.

Other leaders to follow suit includes P K Krishnadas and M T Ramesh, while Shobha Surendran will contest from Attingal.

Tom Vadakkan, the recent entrant after leaving his decades-long office job with Congress, will jump into fray in Kollam.

P C Thomas will be the NDA candidate from Kottayam, while Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam is likely to contest from Ernakulam.
