Anthoor Municipality grants certificate to the Convention Centre

Thiruvananthapuram: Anthoor Municipality on Tuesday granted completion certificate to the Convention Centre which was at the centre of a controversy after Sajan Parayil, NRI businessman and owner of the Convention Centre, committed suicide on June 18.

The deceased’s family alleged that Sajan hanged himself as he found his Rs. 16 crore project enmeshed in red-tapes.

The completion certificate was granted after the clearance of the errors found out by the Chief Town planner.  Also, it was granted on condition that the wrongly raised water tank should be fixed in six months.

Sajans’s father-in-law P. Purushothaman, his brother Srijith and Manager K. Sajeevan were present at the time of the issuance of the certificate which was processed in a matter of couple of hours.

On receiving the application, Municipal secretary M. Suresh and Municipal Engineer in-charge P.V. Biju visited and checked the amends made to the Convention Centre before issuing the certificate.
