"PM's heart still in old Khaki trousers," Pinarayi hits back Modi

Thiruvananthapuram: A day after Prime Minister criticiced Communist government of Kerala for ‘destroying the tradition of the state’, Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan on Monday severely hit back. "Prime Minister's heart is still in the old Khaki trousers and shirts. He acts as if Pracharak Sabha is more important than Prime Ministership," the CM said.

"If PM respects the post he holds, he should have accepted that the activities, undertaken by his followers in Sabarimala, were wrong," Pinarayi said while speaking at the inauguration of the tenth national meet of Bank Employees Federation of India.

Further lambasting Modi, Pinarayi said that he should not act as the spokesperson of RSS or Sangh Parivar. PM should uphold secularism in the country but here he is maintaining silence.

Secularism exists in our country. But, many are trying to destroy it. Men and women have equal rights in all Hindu worship places. If men have the right to worship, so do women. The Supreme Court verdict was ensuring equality without any discrimation. Government is bound to obey the judgement and has implemented it successfully.

Here the women who came believing in SC verdict were attacked. Modi should have condemned those attacks as the Prime Minister of the country, Pinarayi said.

Ridiculing PM, Pinarayi also added that yesterday on his visit to the state, Modi acted as a messenger of god who came to protect the cultural tradition of Kerala which is under attack.
