BJP-RSS protests following two women entering Sabarimala

Thiruvananthapuram: Following the entry of two women into Sabarimala,  BJP and RSS have staged protests in different parts of the state.  In the capital,  for some time volunteers from BJP and CPM were seen shouting slogans face to face in the Secretariat compound and the police took position between them. 

When the chief minister emerged from the Secretariat,  the workers rushed to his car and shouted slogans calling his name.  But the police intercepted in time and removed the protesters.  Four BJP protesters were taken into the custody of Cantonment police. 

The BJP workers who thronged the tent of  the party protesters were seen trying to gatecrash into the Secretariat when the police used force and took them out of the compound.  Following this,  the protesters blocked MG Road in front of the Secretariat.

Mediapersons who tried to take pictures of the scene were also subjected to attack.   The mic of Kairali was damaged and the cameraman from MediaOne was also attacked.   When more police force was  deployed,  the tension subsided.

State Police Chief has asked the police in the entire state to be vigilant.  Mediapersons were attcked in other places too.    A photographer from Manorama was manhandled.  In Kochi and Kottayam,  the Sabarimala Cction Committee workers have blockaded the road amidst reports that road blocks could happen in more places.

Similar rotests were reported from Kannur,  Kodungallur, Kozhikode, Koyilandi and other places too.
