Tribunal annuls demotion of four police officers

Thiruvananthapuram:  Kerala Administrative Tribunal on Monday annulled the demotion of four DySPs and temporarily restored their positions.

They were demoted as part of a massive revamp in the Kerala police force in recent times.

However, 11 DySPs, who faced disciplinary action, had been demoted as Circle Inspectors.  

Acting on a plea by demoted officers, the tribunal interfered in the demotion of K S Udhayabhanu, V G Ravindranath, Manoj Kabir and Sunil.

In a massive revamp, the state government had reshuffled the police officers the other day. The revamp included demotion of 11 DySPs as Circle Inspectors.

In its explanation, the home ministry informed the tribunal the demoted officers included those who were temporarily promoted as DySPs.

The tribunal would consider on Tuesday the pleas filed by others Including Vipin Das and Vijayan
