Will prove if Nair community toes NSS line: G Sukumaran Nair

Changanassery:  NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair on Sunday mouthed off that NSS would prove whether Nair community toes the outfit’s line.

Those in power were trying to educate NSS about renaissance; but NSS had laid foundation to renaissance well before they were born, said Sukumarn Nair inaugurating NSS conclave here.

Renaissance took place in Kerala at the behest of NSS; now, communists put up at their every gathering the portrait of renaissance leader Mannath Padmanbhan.

Sukumaran Nair said he had respect towards SNDP being an older outfit than NSS. But he took exception to the policies of those in its leadership today.

While all parties welcomed the Supreme Court verdict, NSS maintained its stance.  But those who welcomed the court order changed their stance with an eye on vote bank, he said.

There was no link between renaissance and women entry to Sabarimala. The SC verdict was something the LDF government asked for.

It was part of a move to destroy temples and Hindu’s faith in God, he said. NSS had single stance in both Sabarimala issue and economic reservation, which everybody approved.

Economic reservation was implemented through discretion and wisdom without a major section having to beg or agitate for it.

He asked Hindus to offer special pooja at temples during the trial on February 6.
