NIA takes over probe into Maoist links of students

Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday took over the probe in the controversial Maoist case involving students Alan Suhaib and Thwaha Fasal.

The move comes as the case comes under the purview of NIA.

NIA will look into the activities of the duo, and others operated in collusion with them.

The police arrested the two CPM activists on November 2 on the charges of possessing pamphlets linked to Maoists.

There were protests against the arrest and slapping of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) charges against them.
