Man, paramour, arrested over killing his wife

Kochi: Police arrested a man and his woman friend for allegedly killing the former's wife and dumping her body in a forest three months ago.  

Premkumar, hailing from Changanassery, Kottayam, and his friend Sunitha involved in the murder of Vidya on September 21, and dumped her body in a forest area in Tirunelveli, according to police.

Police started a probe following the disappearance of Vidya on September 23 after receiving Premkumar’s complaint.

Police however found contradictions in his statements, and took him into custody three days ago.

After the murder, they allegedly dumped Vidya’s phone in a train dustbin, which the police later located in Bihar.

Premkumar and Sunitha were schoolmates in Thiruvanthapuram; a recent alumni meeting helped them renew their friendship, which led to starting a relationship.

Sunitha was living with her husband and three children in Hyderabad. She later moved to Thiruvananthapuram, and got the position of nursing superintendent at a private hospital.

The accused, according to the police, were influenced by movies like Drishyam, and Tamil movie 96.
