Kochi: Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Milma), the major milk supplier in the state, is all set to hike the milk price after Onam.
Office bearers of the federation is planning a meeting with the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Minister of Dairy Development in September first week.
A hike of Rs. 4 per litre is suggested by the dairy federation.
The dairy farmers has been demanding a price hike after the steep hike in the price of cattle feed. The farmers in the flood-hit areas are facing severe financial crunch.
At present, Milma is selling milk to consumers for Rs. 44 per litre.
