Centre's neglect comes under flak

New Delhi:  The Centre's attitude towards the floods in Kerala has come under flak. When last year's flood happened a few months before the general elections,  home minister Rajnath Singh and prime minister Narendra Modi had visited the state without much delay.

However,  this time in spite of having visited Karnataka which has also been hit by floods,  home minister Amit Shah and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not care to enter Kerala. 

Debates have also surfaced about the silence of either the prime minister or senior ministers of the central cabinet,  and for saying no words of solace even via social media.  As for the central minister V Muraleedharan  who hails from Kerala, only on Friday did he visit the flooded areas and met the affected people.

When asked about the absence of visits by central ministers prior to his own visit,  Muraleedharan said that he was also a central minister and would come to the disaster zones on Friday.
