Northeast Monsoon continues to be active over Kerala and Tamil Nadu, thanks to the well-marked low pressure area over coastal Tamil Nadu.
Scattered light to moderate rains are expected over Kerala while moderate to heavy rains are expected in many parts of Tamil Nadu and Chennai.
These intermittent rains are likely to persist over Kerala till November 23. The state has already witnessed a good amount of rainfall this Northeast Monsoon in comparison to other southern states.
Recently, Kerala has received heavy rains with the passage of Cyclone ‘Gaja’.
At present, Kerala has acquired deficient rains with a mere of 7%. Towards the end of this week, the rain deficiency will decrease further reaching near the normal levels.
