Kottayam: Sources close to the police said that Neenu's parents also had a role in the murder of Kevin P. Joseph. Former DYFI unit secretary Niyas and Riyas who were arrested in connection with the murder are said to have told the police that the parents had a role in the murder.
Riyas and Niyas are relatives of Rahna - Neenu's mother. Meanwhile, the police are yet to trace Neenu's parents Chacko and Rehna, and her brother Shanu Chacko.
Niyas's mother Laila Beevi informed that Neenu's parents had approached them on Friday for hiring a vehicle to bring back Neenu from Kottayam who, they said had gone for an examination.
According to the statements given by the arrested to the police, Shanu Chacko himself organised the gang to abduct Kevin.
Shanu, who was living outside the country, reached home after learning about the marriage of Neenu. Most of the gang members are relatives of Neenu.
Several of them have criminal backgrounds and received local assistance, the police said.
