Hadiya case: Sainaba files affidavit in SC

Leader of National Women's Front A S Sainaba, who impleaded herself in the Hadiya case pending before the Supreme Court, has filed a counter affidavit in the apex court.

She said that anti-nationals, who spread Islamophobia, are behind Hadiya's father Ashokan, and they want to destroy the unity and integrity prevailing in the country as a way to capture power.

Sainaba has explained in the affidavit that according to Article 25 of the constitution, it is Hadiya's fundamental right to embrace any religion of her choice, and she only lent her assistance required to protect that right for her. Sainaba has claimed that neither she nor Satyasarani arranged Hadiya's conversion.

Satyasarani only offers teachings on religion for those who accept Islam  on their free will, she has added.

Hadiya, who has impleaded herself in the case, will also file an affidavit soon.
