Kochi: The situation at Sabarimala has changed, observed A Division Bench of Kerala High Court on Monday, and added that pilgrims can have peaceful darshan.
The court made the oral observation while disposing of a petition filed by three persons from Thrissur.
The petitioners sought a directive to the police not to restrain them from having darshan during the festival season.
During the hearing, Government Pleader V. Manu submitted the petitioners were involved in several cases linked to the protests against the Supreme Court verdict.
Also, the government had no objection to their having a peaceful darshan at Sabarimala. They could visit the temple as true and genuine devotees. The police had taken action only against protesters.
According to petitioners, the police had earlier sent them back from Pampa during pilgrimage, alleging they were BJP workers.
