Painavu: Four persons were killed after the debris of a landslide demolished their house at Mariyapuram Panchayat near Cheruthoni in Idukki district.
The tragedy occurred on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Mathew, his wife Rajamma, their son Vishal and his friend Tint Mathew Karkkamthottil.
A hill located nearby entirely fell on top of their house. The houses of their neighbours Divakar Charalayil and Appachan Arimattathil were also shattered.
Though two bodies were found, the rescue personnel are not able to take out the bodies.
Idukki CI and Thankamani SI have reached the spot.
A portion of the KSRTC depot at Vellayamkudi in Kattappana was destroyed in a landslide. The landslide occurred around 1.15 am on Saturday.
