Thiruvananthapuram: DNA test conducted in the decomposed body found in mangroves at Vazhamuttam confirmed that it is that of Latvian woman Liga Skromane. The test was carried out by matching the samples found from the body with the blood of Ilzi, Liga's sister.
The test report will be handed over to the police via court today itself.
Police has beefed up investigation after forensic experts expressed doubts that the woman was strangulated to death. Police has not so far received the post mortem report conducted to find the cause of death.
Meanwhile, police has started collecting details of those who have been found missing during last weeks. Police had earlier questioned several people living around the place where Liga's body was found.
