Kochi: Actor Dileep, currently out on bail in the actress kidnap case, has moved the High Court seeking relaxation in his bail conditions.
Dileep, who has surrendered his passport to the Angamaly Magistrate Court as directed in his bail conditions, filed a plea in the court on Friday seeking permission to travel to Dubai to attend the inauguration of his restaurant ‘De Puttu’.
According to sources, the actor has not mentioned the dates he intends to travel abroad.
Justice Sunil Thomas, who granted bail to the actor, is likely to hear the petition soon.
The actor, after spending 85 days behind bars in connection with the abduction and sexual assault of the actress, was finally granted bail on October 3 but with stringent conditions.
The court said he should not tamper with evidence. He was also asked to surrender his passport, deposit a bail bond of Rs one lakh and two solvent sureties for the like amount besides appear before investigating officers as and when required.
The court also said he should not influence or threaten the victim or witness by any means including words expressed through print and electronic media.
Meanwhile, the police probe team had called in Dileep for further questioning in the case on Wednesday.
He was let off after more than two hours of questioning at the Aluva Police club. According to the police sources, the actor was called in to seek some clarifications on a medical certificate that he had produced before.
Dileep was arrested on July 10 after the police probe team found clinching evidence to link him to the conspiracy part of the kidnap case.
The abduction of the popular actress took place in February when she was on her way from Thrissur to Kochi.
She was taken around in her vehicle forcibly and allegedly molested for about two hours before being dumped near an actor-director's home.
The key accused -- Pulsar Suni and his accomplices involved in the actual abduction -- were arrested a week later.
Incidentally, early this month, Dileep in a 12-page letter to the State Home Secretary sought a CBI probe into the entire case and contended that he has been framed.
