Wayanad: The bodies of two persons drowned in Banasura Sagar dam waters have been recovered. Bodies of Padinjarekudiyil Wilson (50) and Manithottil Melbin (34) were found washed ashore the waters Wednesday morning.
Police persons and naval divers are in search of the bodies of two others -- Kaatiladath Sachin (20) and Vattachod Binu (42), drowned after the coracle in which they were fishing near the dam capsized due to bad weather.
Three others managed to swim to safety while four persons drowned in the dam waters.
According to the police, the incident happened when the seven persons set out for fishing Sunday night without obtaining permission and the coracle started capsizing around 11.30 PM.
Police on being informed rushed to the spot and launched a search for the missing persons, but called it off for the day due to bad light.
The search continued Monday and Tuesday but could not recover the bodies.
