Administrative Reforms Commission to draw up policy statement

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission Saturday decided to formulate a policy statement to make its activities and interventions in the administration more comprehensive.

The decision was taken during a meeting held here, which was attended by over 20 experts belonging to different fields.

The meeting, inaugurated by Commission Chairman V S Achuthanandan, was aimed at garnering suggestions and expert opinion to reform and take forward the state administration in an effective manner, a release said here.

Presentations on various topics including the structure of state administrative system, coordination between various departments, modern management techniques, financial management, human resource development, transparency in administration and Right to Information were held.

The meeting also decided to collect suggestions from the public and experts of different fields to make the recommendations of the Commission more comprehensive, it said.

Commission members C P Nair and Neela Gangadharan, member secretary Sheela Thomas and Institute of Management in Government (IMG) Director General Satyajith Rajan also took part in the meeting, the release added.
