High court Slams Vigilance on Sankar Reddy's Appointment

Kochi: Kerala High court on Monday severely criticised Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) for questioning the Cabinet decision of appointing Director General of Police N. Sankar Reddy N. Sankar Reddy. High Court asked whether Vigilance Raj was prevailing in the state.

Vigilance acted as supreme body even posing questions about the Cabinet decision, the Court noted.

N. Sankar Reddy's appointment was approved by the LDF Government. The High Court have already examined the various aspects of the case.Earlier vigilance court ordered a probe into appointment of DGP Sankar Reddy and found that he was appointed bypassing the seniority of the other officers.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala approach the High Court against the Vigilance order. Accepting the Chennitahla’s plea, the court postponed the case to 8th March.
