VS writes to Chief Secretary over ARC controversy

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M veteran V.S Achuthanandan has shot off a letter to Chief Secretary S.M Vijayanand expressing his displeasure over the controversy surrounding the Administrative Reforms Commission.

Achuthanandan reportedly demanded in the letter that the office of the commission should be allotted in the secretariat or secretariat annexe.

Replying to a query from reporters on the delay in assuming office, Achuthanandan on Monday had said: “You should ask this question to those who appointed me. You can approach them.”

Though the government issued an order constituting the commission with Achuthanandan as chairman, it is alleged that no formal communication was sent to him.
