Kottayam: Former Finance Minister and Congress-M chief K.M Mani on Monday was quizzed by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in the corruption case over tax relaxation to a lead oxide manufacturing unit.
As per the Viglance case, Mani in his capacity as Finance Minister had helped Super Pigment Lead Oxide manufacturing unit in Kurichi to evade tax to the tune of Rs. 1.66 crore.
A preliminary investigation by a team led by Vigilance Kottayam unit DySP S Ashok Kumar had found that the government incurred a loss after Mani went out of the way to help Benny Abraham, owner of the company.
