Implement SC order on Malaparamba school: HC tells Govt

Kochi: The Kerala High Court Wednesday directed the state government to implement the Supreme Court’s order on the closure of the AUP School at Malaparamba in Kozhikode.

The court order came after the advocate general informed the court that the government was ready to take over the school.

The court said the government can go ahead with the decision to take over after implementing its order on the closure of the school.

The manager of the school had moved the Kerala High Court seeking to close down the institution, saying it had become ‘uneconomical’ to run it adding that the building had become weak.

The High Court order was to close the school by June 8.

On Monday, the Supreme Court had rejected the appeal filed by the state government against the High Court verdict to close down Malaparamba Aided Upper Primary (AUP) School.
