Vigilance to probe Sabarimala theft case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau has taken over the probe into the Sabarimala theft case pertaining to the missing of gold and cash worth Rs 16 lakhs from the Hundi (Bhandaram) of the temple.   

Pathanamthitta Vigilance CI Baiju is in charge of the investigation. 

The government handed over the investigation to vigilance after lapses were found in the earlier investigation.

111 sovereigns of gold and Rs 10 lakhs were stolen from the hundi of the Sabarimala Temple in 2015. The police had arrested six persons in the case.
