Vigilance case against K. Babu

Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas has recommended to file a case against former Excise Minister K. Babu over the bar bribery case.

The recommendation was given after the preliminary investigation conducted by Central Range SP to find enough evidence to book Babu.

The inquiry was conducted on the basis of a complaint lodged by entrepreneur V M Radhakrishnan.

His complaint said the bar owners’ association had collected money ranging from Rs 1-2 lakh from members to hand it over to Babu for slashing bar licence fee.
