Nisham found guilty in Chandrabose murder case

Thrissur: The Thrissur District Additional Sessions Court Wednesday found controversial businessman Mohammed Nisham guilty in the Chandrabose murder case.

The court will pronounce the verdict tomorrow.

Seeking maximum punishment for the convict, the prosecution has asked for Rs. 5 crore for his family, which includes his mother, wife and two children.

The defence, however, argued that maximum punishment should not be awarded as Nisham hails from a joint family, members of which are dependent on him.

The prosecution case is that controversial businessman Mohammed Nisham had mowed down Chandrabose using his Hummer.

The Supreme Court had earlier rejected the bail plea of Mohammed Nisham in the Chandrabose murder case.

The incident happened on January 29, 2015. Nisham had allegedly in an inebriated state, assaulted the security guard, Chandrabose, and later rammed him with his Hummer vehicle, following an argument over delay in opening the gate at a posh residential township in Thrissur.

On February 16, Chandrabose succumbed to injuries at the hospital, following which Nisham was booked with murder charges.
