LDF to intensify stir against Chandy

Kochi: CPI-M politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the LDF would intensify its protest against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who is facing bribery charges in the solar scam.

“The Chief Minister will not be allowed to function freely. There is a strong sentiment against him among the people as he has been clinging on to power even after all these allegations. So the protests against him will be as strong as the people’s sentiments,” Vijayan told reporters at a press conference here.

“Chandy thinks he can calm down the protesters using force. That’s what he is doing. But it’s good for him to remember that the more force is used the more strength the protests gain,” the Marxist leader said adding that the LDF will think about the style of agitation to be followed inside the Assembly when it meets for the budget presentation.
