Vinson M Paul to be new Chief Information Commissioner

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Vigilance director Vinson M Paul has been selected to the post of Chief Information Commissioner in the state.

The state selection committee will recommend Paul’s name to the central government.

The committee comprises Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, who was against the nomination of the IPS officer.

Apart from Paul, names of P R Devadas, Joycy Chirayil, Adbussalam, Eby Kuriakose, and Angathil Jayalumar will be recommended as information commissioners.

The tenure of incumbent CIC Sibi Mathews will be over on April 23.
