Thiruvananthapuram: Dubbing the exit of KCM from opposition UDF as the start of "disintegration" of the Congress-led combine, CPI-M heading the ruling LDF Tuesday welcomed the development but said including the K M Mani-led party in the front was not on its agenda.
Exit of KC-M led by former finance minister K M Mani from UDF was the 'beginning of the disintegration' of Congress-led coalition, CPI-M State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters here.
"Inviting KC-M to the LDF is not in the agenda now," the CPI-M leader said, but added his party would not have any objection in associating KC-M in taking up common issues. KC-M can co-operate with LDF on the September 2 general strike in protest against the "anti-people policies" of the Centre, he added.
Other small parties like JD(U) and RSP who became part of UDF after severing ties with LDF also should introspect themselves whether to continue in Congress-led coalition as it has degenerated.
On the possibility of KC-M joining the NDA front, CPI-M leader claimed such a course would have adverse impact on that party.
"RSS's main rivals are Christians, Muslims and Communist. How can KC-M can become part of such an ideology?" he asked.
KC-M on Sunday had announced its decision to snap its over three-decade old ties with UDF and also resolved to function as a separate bloc in the state assembly.
On the three-month old LDF government in the state, Balakrishnan said "party was satisfied with its performance. The government had done much more in three months time than what the previous UDF government did in three years.
