Had no pressure on me in bar bribery case: SP R. Sukeshan

Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance SP R. Sukeshan Saturday said there has been no external pressure on him in the bar bribery case.

“I was not under any pressure. I probed the case independently and impartially,” he told reporters.

“The verdict for a further probe is a natural legal process,” he said.

In a big setback to the ruling Congress-led UDF ahead of next week's civic polls, the special court Thursday observed there was "sufficient material" for making out a prima facie case" in the bar bribery case against Mani, rejecting the final report seeking closure of the case and ordering further probe.

Criticising the VACB director in preparing the final report, the court had said the director "brushed aside" the contents of the factual report submitted by the investigating officer."
