Kochi: The Kerala High Court Wednesday has ruled that the Madrasas are the educational institutions, not a place of worship.
Justice V. Chidambaresh ordered this while rejecting a plea challenging the decision to use two Madrasas in the Chengara Panchayat in Kasargod as election booths for the local body polls.
“Madrassas are for religious studies and permitting it as polling both is against the beliefs,” the petitioner argued.
