Jacob Thomas gets yet another show-cause notice

Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Secretary Monday issued a show-cause notice to DGP Jacob Thomas, who had "hailed" the special Vigilance court verdict for further probe into the bar bribery case in which an FIR has been registered against Finance Minister K M Mani.

He has been asked to submit an explanation within 15 days.

Triggering another controversy, Jacob Thomas had said that "truth has won" in the bar case through the court verdict. He also questioned the directive of the government that officials should not talk to media.

In a blow to ruling Congress-led UDF in Kerala, a special Vigilance Court had ordered further probe into the bar bribery case, rejecting the investigating agency's final report seeking closure of the case.

Earlier, Thomas had been served a notice for responding to media persons' questions without the permission of the government in connection with his transfer from the Kerala Fire and Rescue Forces.
