Pinarayi hits out at SP Sukesan

Palakkad: CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan Sunday hit out at Vigilance Superintendent of Police R Sukesan, who has been directed by the court to conduct further probe into the bar bribery case.

“The investigation officer is trying to give clean chit to K.M Mani in the case,” alleged Pinarayi.

“For whose sake SP R Sukesan changed his stand,” he asked.

On Saturday, SP R Sukesan had said the Vigilance court order in the bar bribery case did not mean that the accused was guilty.

Sukesan said the order for a further probe was nothing new. “It is not the first time that a court is ordering further probe into a case. The order doesn’t mean that the accused is guilty,” he said.

On the court observation on the Vigilance chief’s conclusions, he said it was the usual procedure in all cases investigated by the VACB.
