New Delhi: After successfully finishing the second chapter of the Kochi Biennale 2014 under artist-curator Jitish Kallt, the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF), along with eminent artists, will meet here on Saturday to choose a curator for its third edition in 2016.
The deliberations on Saturday will be attended by KBF president Bose Krishnamachari, secretary Riyas Komu and trustee Sunil V, besides art critic Ranjit Hoskote, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art's chairperson Kiran Nadar, gallerist Shireen Gandhy and artists Atul Dodia, Jyothi Basu and Bharati Kher.
The foundation aims to maintain transparency in its curator-selection mechanism to ensure the biennale selects the best person with a dynamic artistic vision who can bring in new ideas and energies.
The 108-day long Kochi-Muziris Biennale concluded on March 29, 2015. Spread across eight venues, it brought works of around 94 artists from all around the globe to the port city - Kochi.
Mumbai-based Kallat had delved with the theme of "two chronologically overlapping but perhaps unrelated historical episodes in Kerala during the 14th -17th century" and a journey between time and space.
