Bar Bribe: Mani furious over leakage of probe details, govt to enquire the matter

Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister K M Mani has expressed his displeasure over the media getting access to the details of the investigation in to the bar bribery case.

Criticising the Home Ministry over the matter, Mani on Monday said that the investigation details being leaked to the media is a serious matter as “the media publish imaginative stories in the name of ‘leaked’ reports.

The Kerala Congress (M) chief also asked the government to look into the matter.

Enquired about the development of the investigation in to the case, Mani said he would react once the probe is complete. “I am not going to give any statement now as that might affect the ongoing investigation. I don’t want that to happen,” he said.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said that the government would examine the matter.

“The government has no role in it as the matter is handled by the investigation officers and the court. So how the media get access to the probe details is something that needs a thorough investigation.”

The government will for sure look into the matter, Chennithala said.
