Kozhikode: KPCC general secretary Adv T Siddique resigned from the post following complaints of domestic violence filed against him by his former wife T. Naseema.
Siddique said he was staying away until he was exonerated of the charges levelled against him.
On Thursday, T Naseema had complained that she and her two children were assaulted by Siddique and his gang at MIMS hospital, where she had gone for a medical check-up.
Siddique, in a Facebook post on Saturday, accused Shanavas and Congress leader and KPCC secretary K Jayanth of being behind his former wife’s police complaint against him.
He alleged that the complaint is an outcome of the efforts of Shanavas and Jayanth to tear down his personal life and eliminate him politically. In the post, he also seeks a probe into the conspiracy against him.
Naseema had filed a complaint before the judicial first class magistrate saying Siddique's second marriage was illegal.
Siddique had divorced Naseema, a cancer patient, and married a woman from Kannur a few months ago.
