Prof Ninan Koshy passes away

Thiruvananthapuram: Noted political thinker and foreign affairs expert Prof Ninan Koshy has passed away at a private hospital here.

He was 81.

Koshy breathed his last at around 7 am on Wednesday at the hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday following old age ailments.   

A theologian and social analyst, Koshy was former director of the WCC’s Commission of the Churches on International Affairs.

He contested the general election in 1999 as an LDF candidate from Mavelikkara Constituency against P G Kurien.

Born on February 1 in 1934 at Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta, Koshy served as a lecturer and Professor in CMS and S B College.

He is also popular as political commentator, thinker, social activist, author, and orator, and obtained an honorary doctorate in theology from Serampore University.
