Gold worth Rs 4.5 cr seized at Kozhikode airport

Kozhikode: Gold bars and biscuits worth Rs 4.5 crore kept concealed in a consignment of LED lamps were seized Thursday at the cargo section of the international airport here and one person who came to collect it was taken into custody, customs officials said.

The consignment was sent onboard an Emirates flight that arrived here last week from an overseas origin. When one

in the LED lamps, they said.

The man has been detained and further investigation is on, the officials said, but did not reveal the name of the
place from where the cargo was booked.
