CBI grills T.O Sooraj in Kalamassery land-grab case

Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Friday interrogated former Public Works Department (PWD) Secretary T.O. Sooraj in connection with the Kalamassery land-grab case.

Sooraj, who was suspended from his post following allegations that he had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, was questioned at the Kochi unit of the agency.

The CBI took over the probe into the land grab case in April last year.

On Wednesday, Salim Raj, the former gunman of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and nine others were arrested in the land-grab case.

The arrested people allegedly tried to usurp about 45 acres of land in the capital, and around 1.16 acres in Kochi. The total value of the land is around Rs.400 crore.
