Chandy had provided financial help to Saritha: Fenny Balakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram: Fenny Balakrishnan Friday came out with a new revelation, alleging that it was Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who had financially helped Saritha S Nair to settle the solar fraud case.

“I had many times received money through congress leader Thampanoor Ravi. When Saritha was lodged in jail, Chandy had telephoned me and said all possible help would be given to Saritha,” said Fenny.

“Besides Chandy, ministers Aryadan Muhammed, Adoor Prakash, K.C Venugopal, MP, A.P Abdulla Kutty, MLA, had offered money to Saritha,” he said.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, however, denied the fresh allegations, saying that he did not know anything about the incident.

“I don’t know anything about the incident,” said Chandy.

CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said the true colour of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has been exposed with the new revelations.

“Chandy has no right to stay in power,” Kodiyeri said, adding that “an independent probe should be ordered into the solar scam.”
