State to observe one week mourning over Kalam's demise

Thiruvananthapuram: The State government Tuesday declared a seven day state mourning as a mark of respect to former President A P J Abdul Kalam.

As a mark of respect to former President A P J Abdul Kalam, Kerala will observe seven days of state mourning from July 27 to August 2, according to an official release here.

During the mourning period the National Flag will be flown at half mast on all buildings across the state, it said adding, there will be no official entertainment during the period.

The former President died at Bethany Hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya Monday after he collapsed during a lecture at the IIM.
