Karamana (Thiruvananthapuram): The City police on Thursday arrested a youth in connection with the death of serial actress Shilpa.
The police team, led by Suresh V. Nair, Circle Inspector, Thampanoor, arrested Lijin, the actress’s lover, from Katakada Thursday morning.
Lijin, a photographer by profession, had been missing ever since the death of the actress hit the headlines.
Shilpa’s body was found in the Karamana river, near Maruthoorkadavu, on Saturday.
The investigation team, led by Assistant Commissioner Sudhakar Reddy, had recorded the statements of two of her friends on Tuesday.
Shilpa, who has acted in a few TV serials and a Malayalam movie, had left for a dance programme at Pappanamcode on Saturday morning. She reportedly had an argument with Lijin and was upset, according to her friends. They had met her to return her mobile phone which she had forgotten at the house of a relative of her friend after the programme.
