Trouble in JSS over party properties

Thiruvananthapuram: Uncertainty has hit the Janathipathiya Samrakshana Samiti (JSS) over the fate of its properties after their chief K R Gowri Amma declared her decision to return to the CPI-M folder.

While talking to the media on Tuesday, JSS leader Adv. A N Rajan Babu said that the party would not let the CPI-M own its properties even if Gowri Amma joined the Marxist party.

The JSS possesses properties at Arur, Alappuzha, and Thiruvananthapuram.

“If she wants to return to the CPI-M, she should leave the properties to the JSS and go. Those assets were bought with the money collected from the party members and the public,” he said.

Gowri Amma had earlier said that the party possessions would be handed over to the CPI-M with her return to the Left platform.

Rajan, however, said that he would move the court if any such attempt is made by Gowri Amma.

Gowri Amma, 96, is all set to officially announce the merger of JSS with the CPI-M in Alappuzha on August 19.
