Liquor policy impractical: SC

New Delhi: In a setback to the State government, the Supreme Court Thursday has termed the new liquor policy is impractical.

Dismissing the Kerala government’s plea challenging the High Court verdict, the apex court questioned the logic behind the new liquor policy categorising as three-star and four-star hotels.

“The Kerala government’s new liquor policy can’t be recognised,” the court observed.

A single bench of the Kerala High Court had directed the State government to renew the bar licence of nine three-star hotels and one four-star hotel.
