Pathanamthitta: In a tragic incident, a veterinary surgeon was Sunday trampled to death by a tusker while he was trying to tranquilize it at Vaipur, near Mallappally.
Dr. C. Gopakumar (47), the victim, was a surgeon at the Govt Veterinary Hospital, Mallappally and the coordinator of elephant squad of the Animal Husbandry Department.
The veterinary doctor was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvalla where he breathed his last.
