Thrissur: KPCC president V M Sudheeran, an anti-liquor crusader in the party, on Wednesday shrugged off the remarks of Raj Kumar Unni, state president of Bar Hotels Owners Association, saying he would be surprised only if the bar owners did not raise any allegations.
Talking to a news channel, Raj Kumar had called upon Sudheeran to end the liquor business of his relatives first before venturing out to ‘purify’ the society.
“It is natural to get criticisms from the bar owners over my stand against liquor. I am not going to give any explanation on their comments,” said the Congress leader adding, he could not be held responsible for some of his relatives being involved in the liquor business.
“The media and the people can examine the comments against me. The people are well aware of my style of function,” Sudheeran said.
